Join us today, and every Monday, at 5:15pm for Brand Buzz on KPEL 96.5 where we discuss branding, social media and how you can grow your organization with these tools.  The organizations that can benefit the most from branding and social media are non-profit causes. Download the ebook on Branding for a Cause to learn more.

Whether you are a part of a service organization, school or church, every non-profit needs to focus on branding and social media to build their base and develop advocates.  That’s really what branding is all about – building a bond and developing believers. One of the biggest challenges for non-profits is a lack of budget to spread the word about their cause and their mission.  Social Media provides the tools to communicate with thousands without spending any money…just time.

Your non-profit cause has two main groups of stakeholders – volunteers and donors.  Social media tools can be key in building both bases.  To connect with volunteers, social media tools can be used to communicate, engage, inform, motivate and build advocates.

With donors, social media has made it possible for people to become aware of a cause and donate at the same time.  Whether it is through text message or Twitter, donating has never been easier.

How should non-profit causes use these tools to build their base?

It all starts with branding.  Have a brand message that is engaging is key to connecting with people online.  One of the biggest mistakes that organizations make is by talking too much about themselves instead of sharing content that is relatable and engaging.

To learn more about how to build your organization’s brand through social media, download the ebook, Branding for a Cause, and tune in to KPEL 96.5 at 5:15pm today and every Monday.

PS – The first Friday of each month, please join us for the Social Media Breakfast at Americas Coffee House downtown at 7:30am.  This week, Friday May 6th, we will be discussing QR codes (RSVP for the breakfast here).  You can download an ebook on the topic to learn more.  This is a casual round table discussion where we share our experiences about different social media apps.
