RUSSO RUNS WITH THE DUCKS
Lafayette, LA – (March 25, 2009) For the third year in a row, The Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana selected The Russo Group to concept and create the advertising materials for their annual event, The Running of the Ducks.
The Boys and Girls Club first approached Russo in 2006 when the event, which is the club's main fundraiser, slipped 30% and the Club was facing major cutbacks. Russo realized that in order for the event to regain its former luster, the campaign would need to change the conversation and get people talking about it again. In addition to suggested new distribution points, Russo utilized a tie-in to iconic movies and created "Dawn of the Ducks" which built a "thrill" around the event. In 2008, Russo continued the movie theme with "The Leader of the Quack" and in 2009, "The Good, The Bad, and the Duckly".
The Boys and Girls Club have surpassed its goals for the past three years and the Acadiana Running of the Ducks has once again become one of the most successful events in the country. According to Stacey Boudreaux Grow, Account Executive at The Russo Group, "As an agency that believes in giving back, we were honored to work with the Boys and Girls Club for a third straight year. It's always a good indicator of our job performance when clients continue to call on us for their branding needs. This year promises to be even more fun than the last."
The Russo Group is a strategic branding agency. Russo believes in the promise behind the brand and that changing the conversation motivates consumer behavior.
