Paul Chaney first introduced me to Kutiman’s work back in March when he was a keynote speaker at a Chamber event. If you aren’t familiar with Paul, you should be. His book, The Digital Handshake, is a great read and goes a long way towards explaining why advertising is losing out to social media to capture the attention of consumers. Yes, this is a plug for his book but not because he promised to send me an autographed copy a few months ago. I really think it is a good read for anyone that deals with consumers - which is sort of everyone.
Kutiman’s video, Thru-You, The Mother of All Funk Chords, is an amazing work. It is a mix of unrelated YouTube clips and videos edited together to create something entirely new. It is a great collaboration. But without the involvement of any of the collaborators. What a great project.
