Steven’s Ad of the Week: Thinkbox

by Jaci Russo on

This week, we will kick off a new blog segment: Steven’s Ad of the Week. Each week, our intern Steven will present an ad that got his attention for how branding is done right.

So let’s get started, shall we?

Steven’s Ad of the Week

This week’s Ad of the Week is a Thinkbox television spot entitled ‘Harvey and the Rabbit’.

‘Harvey and the Rabbit’ is a fun and entertaining commercial, which portrays a dog named Harvey using a video to persuade his owner not to toss out his favorite toy. The spot ends with the words “Discover the power of TV advertising at www.thinkbox.tv”, further emphasizing Thinkbox’s message. This is not the first commercial Harvey has made an appearance in, either. He has also previously been spotted at the pound, using a video of himself to attract potential owners.

This particular ad carries a quite straightforward message about the power of Thinkbox’s video marketing services. Each viewer is effectively asked ‘Would you throw out Harvey’s rabbit?’ I doubt many viewers would. Also, with how persuasive Harvey is, viewers get to see the potential they have to get their own messages across by working with Thinkbox.

Interesting to note that while promoting televeision advertising, Thinkbox is sharing the video online. Thinkbox ensures a wider reach by expanding the audience.  Traditional media made stronger through the incorporation of social media.

By showing clearly and proficiently how useful video is in this spot, Thinkbox makes good use of this tactic. This is a basic fundamental part of branding; communicating to the audience exactly what you are capable of and making them feel an emotional connection in the process.

…and a little humor along the way never hurt anyone!
