New Orleans based foundation with a national focus, the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation has a singular purpose - creating merit-based opportunities for every high school student to receive a college education.
Challenge: Overcome the loss of the Foundation's founder and namesake while continuing the work of getting other states to adopt some version of the Taylor Plan.
Strategy: The first mission
was to celebrate Mr. Taylor's life with a memorial on the one year anniversary
of his death. This event received global attention and was attended
by dignitaries from industry, government, and education. Russo
created a memorial book with a comprehensive retrospective of Mr. Taylor's
life. In addition, Russo developed a communications strategy (including the
creation of collateral materials and website) to further the Foundation's
work throughout the country. The Foundation uses these materials in
meetings with other foundations, universities, the U.S. Congress, White House,
and other dignitaries to educate decision makers about the Taylor Plan.
Results: To date, 23 states
have adopted their version of the Taylor Plan.
